WELL-WATERED GARDEN (ISAIAH 58:9-14)
If you will reach out to the hungry
And satisfy the aching soul,
Build up the old waste places
And restore the streets where they dwell.
Then you will call and God will answer.
You will cry and he will say, “Here I am.”
Your light shall dawn in darkness
Until your dark shall be like noon.
CHORUS:
And God himself will make you stronger.
He will guide you, south and north.
In the drought he’ll satisfy you
And your healing shall spring forth.
And you will be a spring of water
And your stream will never end.
And your heart will bloom and grow
Like a well-watered garden,
Like a well-watered garden.
If you will drop the pointing finger
And take the yoke from those in need,
Keep your tongue from speaking wickedness
And spread his blessing instead,
Then righteousness shall go before you.
His glory shall be your rear guard.
And you will ride on the high hills of earth
As you delight yourself in the Lord.
